Ingredients for Maintaining a Community (Leecy Wise)

Honesty

Speak honestly to one another. Be clear about you intent and expectations. Reveal feelings and thoughts associated with any issue and define the difference (between thoughts and feelings). Be consistent in your speech as it reflects you.

Responsibility

Be clear about your responsibility in any decision. Assume your responsibility and define what authority you need to carry it out. Let each one define her responsibility when joint projects are undertaken. Speak it and remember it. Each one plays a singular role in a community. Honor your role and that of others. When you get involved, you become responsible. Trust that each will honor her own role.

Openness

Remain open and flexible. Communicate fears, hopes and accomplishments as they occur. Council meetings have a purpose: they keep people together with their intent at the center. Always keep Love at the center so that you become open to others and feel the courage to express yourself. In Love there is no fear.

Respect

Any joint project requires the talents and creativity of many. Respect what you and each other person brings to the community. Honor one another in words, feelings and deeds (kind speech; diligent listening; acts of kindness). Honor the Love that keeps you together.

A community grows and becomes strong as it nurtures itself in Love. Love one another as Creator loves each of you. You are created and maintained and gently held in Love. Hold one another dear and keep each other safe and protected from the vengeance of the world. KNOW the truth that Love is the meaning of Life. As you live, know in each breath that you are not alone. You are in Love. And Love is real.

Short Story, Woman Style (Leecy Wise)

First Chapter

It is told that once there was Woman, and her nature prevailed on Earth, for she was Earth herself.

For every breath, a seed was born and nurtured in her soil.

Her waters flowed and the rains brushed the soil that gave each seed its home.

And it was good.

And so it is, still.

Let those who can see it, see and find comfort on the Earth.

A Woman’s Place (Let’s Put Her in Her Place!)

A woman’s place is one without dissention and obligation. A woman’s place is like a womb – soft, mysterious, warm.

A woman’s place is in her heart and among other women in their hearts.

A woman’s place is a place of joy that surpasses understanding.

A woman’s place is experienced, not understood and explained.

In a woman’s place, children are free and safe to explore.

In a woman’s place, acts reflect the heart of each, and all gets done

Where is Woman?

A woman is immovable; yet she goes everywhere. (Her faith cannot be measured or bought.)

Her home is not confined to tents and buildings. She is everywhere and at home there.

If man is to find a woman, let it be through his heart, for he will always find her there.

If grief finds a woman, it is to be embraced and held until it is part of her and no longer alone.

Last Chapter

Love knows Woman as she knows herself. As Love knows the Earth, so is Woman embraced and dissolved in it, in total union.

Love is as Woman upon the Earth.

And it is good.
